Dear Voorheesville Central School District families:
Today (April 16), at approximately 3:30 p.m., a Voorheesville Central School District bus was rear-ended by an SUV at the traffic circle in the village. There were 15 elementary students on the bus. No students were injured. The district bus driver was also unharmed. The Albany County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene.
VCSD contacted the parents and guardians of the students involved, and a new bus was sent to the scene to transport the students home. All VCSD Transportation Department policies are being followed.
Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our students, and the factors that led to this accident will be carefully investigated and evaluated.
