Voorheesville Middle and High School students created more than 400 beautifully handmade Valentines cards to spread love to residents of local nursing homes. VCSD participated in New York State Senator Michelle Hinchey’s second Annual Valentines for Seniors drive.
Freshman Class Advisor, Anne Lyons said the cards were “filled with decorative pop-ups, stunning paintings, fun origami, and merry riddles. A few of the Spanish students wanted to make sure that Spanish speaking residents would not be left out, while one student whose grandfather is a veteran in a local home made some patriotic ones.”
Freshman Cassidy Bachman said that she was inspired to participate because she knows “it’s been a difficult couple of years for everyone, especially those who can’t really see their families. I just wanted to do something that could make our seniors smile, even if it was as small as making a Valentine’s Day card.”
