Our comprehensive school counseling program is aligned with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model and New York State Education Department regulations. School counseling program services are provided to all students in kindergarten through grade 12.
The VCSD Counseling Department assists students and their families by providing consultation and academic, career and personal counseling. We encourage strong communication with students, their parents/guardians and the Voorheesville community.
Beyond in-school counseling, our team can connect students and families with a host of community resources, including support for addiction, mental health, food assistance, safety and more.
Youth and families can also get 24/7 help by calling 911 for emergency services, the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 988, Crisis Chat (text HELP to 741741) or through the confidential Safe Schools Helpline.

As students prepare for life after high school, attention is placed on the options of college, employment or military service. The college selection process involves choosing a school that meets the abilities and interests of each student. We can also assist in the financial aid process.
