The safety of children is our top priority at Voorheesville Central School District. All members of our school community have a role in school safety, and knowing how to respond in the event of an emergency is an important part of this.
As required by state education law, the Voorheesville Central School District maintains a district-wide safety plan. The plan is designed to prevent or minimize the effects of violent incidents and emergencies and to facilitate the coordination of schools and school districts with local and county resources in the event of such incidents or emergencies.
Each year, the district seeks public input on the safety plan in advance of the VCSD Board of Education adopting it for the coming school year. The draft of the district-wide safety plan for the 2024-25 school year is available here. The VCSD BOE will host a hearing on the plan in August.
