A message from Superintendent Frank Macri:
Dear Voorheesville School Community,
The Voorheesville Central School District is aware of discussions taking place on social media regarding a purported threat alleged to have been made by a student on November 13. As with any such report, the district promptly undertook a full and thorough investigation, including working with our school security monitor and communicating with local law enforcement. The district found no evidence that a threat was made at this time.
The district continues to make student safety and security its top priority. We know that this is also the top priority for our families. As always, we ask that you please contact your student’s building principal if you have any questions or concerns. Additionally, we encourage students and families to utilize the Safe School Helpline to confidentially report threats of violence, suicide, bullying, and illegal activity that could cause harm. It can be accessed through the web, by downloading an app, by texting, or calling a toll free number.
Our goal is to maintain open lines of communication. We encourage families to reach out directly to the district with any additional concerns.
Frank Macri
VCSD Superintendent
