Voorheesville Central School District would like to take a minute to express gratitude to a role model among us, varsity baseball captain Jack Popow. When the senior learned the modified team was down a first base coach, Jack offered to lend his time to help. His kindness, compassion, and skill has been making a difference for the younger players.
“Jack’s work with the modified baseball team and his willingness to step up in a time of need represents the values and qualities we hope we have instilled in all our students here at the high school and throughout their years in the district,” said Principal Richard Shea. “Jack’s leadership in baseball will now have a lasting impact long after he graduates. We hope he comes back to help coach future generations of Voorheesville Blackbird baseball players.”
Jack’s love of baseball and for the Blackbirds athletic programs has earned accolades on the local news. Watch WNYT reporter Lexi Swatt’s story about Jack here.
