Notification of Dec. 17 MS/HS Hold-in-Place

Dear Voorheesville Parents and Guardians,

This morning, our secondary campus experienced two brief, non-emergency holds-in-place. The first hold-in-place lasted for approximately five minutes from 10:38 – 10:43 a.m. A second, related hold-in-place was called at 10:55 a.m. and lasted until 11:04 a.m.

A hold-in-place is used to limit movement of students and staff while dealing with short-term emergencies.

Both holds were done out of an abundance of caution to ensure the security of our students, staff and our middle school and high school campus. Per district safety protocol, the Albany County Sheriff’s office was called to the campus to assist with the situation.

Please note that there was no threat to the campus and normal operations resumed promptly after the hold was lifted.

We appreciate your understanding and continued trust as we prioritize the safety of everyone on campus. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school offices.

Respectfully,
