As part of the district’s commitment to ensure the well-being of its students, the Voorheesville Central School District is conducting a School Climate Survey. The survey will solicit feedback from middle and high school students, staff and guardians. The district conducted the survey in 2022 and will compare the results with this year’s survey.
The online survey is being administered to participating students during the school day. The link to the survey for parents and guardians is active now through May 3.
What is the School Climate Survey?
The U.S. Department of Education develops the School Climate Survey as a common, reliable and nationally-validated measure for use by states, districts and schools.
The survey contains sections on school participation, physical and emotional safety, substance abuse and more. Participation is completely voluntary and strictly confidential. No personally identifiable information will be requested or collected from any survey respondent.
Why do we conduct the School Climate Survey?
Examining the School Climate Survey results will allow VCSD to explore the aspects of our school climate that support a positive learning and working environment. We will use the data to consider where we can improve moving forward. We can celebrate our strengths, respond to areas of concern and monitor our progress.
